Cities in songs

Gooooood morning, girls!
I have just visited our blog and found Giuliana's post: great vid and moving song...I thought about songs dedicated to famous cities, like NY and London, why not? My favourite town, indeed! After some tries, here is an old video (this kind of vintage things just run me crazy!) from the glittering '70s! Enjoy and see you later!

Love,

Natura

Dear all,

spring is coming or, at least, so it seems. Our tanslation studies are interesting; however the green grass, the blue sky, everything that is part of nature in springtime is surprisingly romantic, isn't it? And one has a hard time to give up things like walking in the countryside or anything else you can do outdoors. Needless to say, I do love nature so much that I would spend hours gazing at it. How couldn't you agree with that before such a sight? Elena De Marco

ORTENSIA – Tiziana’s homework

ORTENSIA

Nome botanico:Hydrangea macrophylla

Famiglia:Saxifragaceae

Clima:temperato

Uso:Si coltiva generalmente in giardini e aiuole come pianta ornamentale.

Potatura:A fine fioritura o a fine inverno.

Botanical name: Hydrangea macrophylla

Family:Saxifragaceae
Brief Description: Flowering plant, rustic, widely cultivated; it has shiny, large and oval dark-green leaves. The small flowers are grouped in corymbs or panicles at the end of the stems that can be white, pink, red, sky-blue or blue. The genus includes about 80 species, among which there are also the climbing ones, which adhere to the support stands by aerial roots, but if they have no support stands, they become ground cover.

Duration: everlasting (evergreen).

Flowering period: The flowers bloom in early summer on the branches of the previous year and may be sky-blue, blue, red and pink.

Source area: Asia (China and Japan).
Climate: temperate.

Use: It is generally cultivated in both gardens and flower beds as an ornamental plant. It can be grown for one year in a flat, then it should be put outside, because it tends to decline.

Precautions and care:

Exposure and brightness: in bright location, preferably not directly in the sun. It can also be kept outdoors in spring-summer time. If in garden, put the plant in the half-light.
Temperature: Resistant even at very low temperatures even if the ideal suitable temperature ranging between 15 ° C and 20 ° C. Excessive temperatures may cause an abrupt cessation of flowering.
Substrate: In general, acid soil is preferable, absolutely devoid of limestone. Choose a cool, moist soil, rich in organic matter, leaves, heather land and sand. The choice of substrate is also important to influence the nuance and hue of the color of its flowers: with very alkaline soils, the flowers take a deep pink color. To turn the hue to the blue just add the acid peat, or sulfur or aluminum sulfate or iron. The soil acidity must be between 5 and 6 for normal hydrangeas, 4.5 to 5 for varieties whose flowers are shy-blue tinted.
Irrigation: Water profusely, keeping slightly moist soil and using not-chalky water.
Fertilizer: Use a high grade fertilizer or manure in spring.
Propagation: Put plant herbaceous or slightly woody cuttings in pots with a mix of peat and sand. The hydrangea can also be sown in spring.
Pruning: After flowering or in late winter. Hydrangea is to be pruned to stimulate the emission of new branches on which flowers will grow the following year. It is recommended to prune rather "short".
Adversity: Two species of mold - gray and white –may attack the plant. Some fungi may also attack it causing rot at the roots. The red little spider is manifested by the appearance of small white or yellowish spots on the leaves. It is prevented by not keeping the plants in hot and dry places, raising the humidity by any means. It is fought back with acaricides. Chlorosis occurs in veins with a yellowing of the leaves, which can also be whitish and even get dry and fall. It is due to either the lack of iron in the soil or the plant inability to absorb it because of the excessive quantity of limestone in the substrate. It is fought with sequestrene administration, which allows the plant to absorb the iron slowly and according to its needs.
Bits of advice: Either in a flat or in a greenhouse hydrangeas are grown using about 25 cm pots. In the early months of the year vegetative growth can be stimulated, bringing the plant to a 10 degrees Celsius temperature and distributing more water.
Curiosity
History: The name comes from Latin and means "orchards and gardens". Hortense was also a nickname of Venus. For the bloom period, from March onwards, it is considered the symbol of Easter. It was introduced into Europe in the eighteenth century by the naturalist Philibert Commerson.
Environment: Place this plant outside your office or room window, where you spend many hours of the day: you will be in harmony with yourself.
Literature and mythology: The hydrangea is magic for Fish and represents the ability of this sign to expand and capture the mood of the environment.
Art: In the language of flowers it means "coolness." The color of the flowers is variable: The white-flowered hydrangeas are completely refractory to soil composition, and never become blue.
